- This piece is the most personally linked to the brand’s founder. inspired by her favourite painting, Monet’s “The Poppy Field” (1873), on display in Paris’ Musée d’Orsay. When she was there with her mother, she had missed this painting upon a very chaotic visit. When her mother showed her the picture she had taken of the piece on her phone, she got sad for missing it, but her mother promised they’d return one day. The very next year, they were back and she managed to see the painting. Quite poetically, this is the kimono that her mother chose for herself out of this collection and is thus meant to cast the spell of mother-daughter love upon its wearer, mixed with a hint of Monet’s artistry.
